Bryan is a registered architect with over 20 years of experience specialising exclusively in animal care facility design. His work spans shelters, boarding and training centres, and veterinary hospitals across Australia, the USA, and Canada.
As Therian’s Architecture Manager, Bryan combines deep sector knowledge with strong architectural and project management skills. He leads the delivery of complex, high-performance facilities — ensuring each project meets animal welfare needs, supports operational flow, and is delivered on time and within budget.
Bryan’s expertise in design coordination, staging, and stakeholder engagement makes him a trusted partner in achieving practical, future-ready outcomes for animal care environments.
Simon Hurcombe | Design Manager
Simon brings extensive experience in the design and documentation of small to large complex animal care facilities across Australia and New Zealand. As Therian’s Design Manager, he leads both in-house and external multidisciplinary teams through every project phase — from concept to construction — ensuring clarity, quality, and compliance at every step.
With a meticulous eye for detail, deep understanding of operational workflows, and technical standards Simon is adept at coordinating consultants, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering solutions that meet the highest standards of functionality, hygiene, animal welfare and building performance. His collaborative approach ensures seamless integration of design, equipment, and process across all project scales.

Matthew David | Architectural Technician I
With over 18 years of architectural experience, Matthew David brings strong technical capability and a practical approach to project delivery. His background in residential design provides a foundation in constructability, documentation accuracy, and coordination across multiple trades.
Since joining Therian, Matthew has focused on translating design intent into detailed, buildable outcomes. He plays a key role in supporting the delivery of complex animal care projects, ensuring documentation precision and consistency throughout construction.
Matthew’s methodical approach and attention to interface detailing make him a valuable link between design teams, consultants, and builders — supporting clear communication and efficient project execution.
Annabel Brown | Architectural Technician II
With a Master of Architecture from Bond University and recognition through the 2023 Soheil Abedian Medal of Excellence, Annabel Brown brings design flair and technical precision to Therian’s architecture team.
Since joining in 2020, Annabel has contributed to a wide range of animal care facility projects, combining creative form with functional performance. Her attention to detail and ability to translate complex requirements into buildable, efficient outcomes make her a valued member of the project delivery team.
Annabel’s design approach is guided by a belief that form, and function should work seamlessly together. Jordyn-Jayne Landon | Architectural Technician III
Jordyn-Jayne Landon is an emerging architectural technician with a Bachelor of Architectural Design and Masters degree from Griffith University. Since joining Therian in 2022, she has developed strong skills in drafting, coordination, and detail resolution.
Working across concept and documentation stages, Jordyn-Jayne contributes to ensuring design intent is clearly conveyed and construction information is accurate and well-coordinated. Her commitment to precision and collaboration supports positive relationships between design teams, consultants, and contractors.
