Behind the name Therian

The meaning behind the name Therian comes from an ancient Greek saying Philotherianism, which translates to “For the love of animals”. All of the staff at Therian are passionate about the environments we design for animals and our products which protect them.

Ariella Kerr
Ariella KerrExecutive Assistant
After spending 2 years abroad developing her office management and C-suite assistant skills in London CBD, Ariella returned to the Gold Coast and began her journey with Therian. Ariella joined the Therian team in 2019 as the Executive Assistant to CEO, Gavin Biggs. She has a Bachelor of Psychological Science and many years experience within management and the corporate environment.

Gavin has a passion for human and animal movement that showcases itself in dynamic and engaging animal facility design. Gavin travels extensively to ensure that he is abreast of all the latest ideas in animal care.Since 2006, he has been heavily involved in designing and project managing many animal facilities. Gavin see’s his success as the success of his clients and the long term relationships that have prevailed past the projects completion dates.
Natasha Kirk

Natasha joined the Therian team in 2014 bringing her extensive office support and administration experience, and has worked across all departments at Therian. Natasha provides vital administrative and organisational support to the whole Therian team and is often the first person clients speak to when they call Therian.

Jo-Anne joined the Therian team in March 2020, bringing her extensive accounts knowledge. She has a Bachelor of Business and provides vital internal accounts support to all departments at Therian.
Kelly Biggs
Kelly BiggsMarketing Manager
Kelly has been with the firm since it first opened its doors. These days she concentrates on Marketing for the firm, organising all trade shows and promotional advertisments. Kelly oversaw the renovations of our new office at Ashmore and loves to welcome clients in. She firmly believes that good design influences our daily life and enhances our experiences.
Leanna Oakes
Leanna OakesMarketing Coordinator
Leanna joined Therian in 2019 after relocating from Singapore to Australia. Leanna comes with over 10 years of marketing and event management experience in the Asia Pacific Region. She specialises in branding, digital campaigns and content creation of various collaterals.

Simon Hurcombe
Simon HurcombeArchitectural Technician I
Architectural technician with 7 years of experience in the industry and a Bachelor of Architecture, upon joining Therian in 2015 has focused on design and construction management of a range of animal facilities types across Australia.
Bryan King
Bryan KingDesign Manager / Lead Architect
Bryan is a registered architect and has specialised exclusively in the design of veterinary hospitals and other animal care facilities throughout Australia, the U.S.A, and Canada since 2002. Bryan joined Therian as the Architecture Manager in January 2018. He has expertise designing complex projects including multi-phased construction and equipment coordination for large veterinary specialty hospitals as well as extensive experience with more modest small-animal practices.
Brendon Della Bella
Brendon Della BellaArchitectural Technician III
Brendon is an Architectural Student who completed his Bachelor of Architectural Design qualification in 2017 and is currently finalising his Master of Architecture education. Prior to joining Therian, Brendon worked as an Architectural Draftsman designing both multi-family residential and commercial projects. His experience and skill with computer modelling provide valued support across every aspect of design and documentation for our team.
Thomas Neves
Thomas NevesArchitectural Technician III
Thomas completed his National Diploma in Architecture at the University of Johannesburg and has over 10 years’ experience with a wide range of project types including multi-story and luxury residential housing, commercial, and retail projects. His experience and skill with computer modelling provides support across every aspect of design and documentation for the Architectural Team.
Annabel Tape
Annabel TapeArchitectural Technician III
Annabel joined the Therian Architecture team in 2020 as a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Design from Griffith University. Annabel possesses a strong passion for architecture and design. She prides herself in her high attention to detail and work ethic which allow her to successfully model and document architectural designs at Therian.

Equipment Team

Loren Copp
Loren CoppSales Consultant
Loren is the Sales Consultant for the Equipment Team at Therian. Loren has over 10 years’ experience working with pet, vet and equine products and services. Prior to joining Therian, Loren graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Major in Zoology) from the University of Queensland and has a keen interest in animal behaviour and enrichment.
Kate Kenny
Kate KennyEquipment Manager
Kate brings 18 years of experience in the Animal Health industry having started as a Veterinary Nurse in 2003 but has considerable experience in capital sales and clinic operations, working more recently as General Manager of a large veterinary hospital. Kate completed her MBA at Queensland University of Technology in 2020.
Robert Hale
Robert HaleProject Coordinator
Robert emigrated from the UK to Australia in 2018, joining the Therian team in 2021. His previous work experience in the UK lies in financial services & innovation. Rob is currently undertaking a Micromasters qualification in Project management to support his ambitions of leading multifaceted projects.
Grace Winton

Grace joined the Therian team in 2017. Over 5 years of retail experience, she provides a vast understanding in sales and customer service for our Therian clients who are looking to purchase products from our Equipment team

Anna Spence
Anna SpenceTechnology Implementation Specialist
Anna graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2014 at the Massey University in New Zealand. Since graduation she has worked and volunteered as a Veterinary Nurse in, Australia, UK, China, and Canada. She joined Therian in 2021 bringing her knowledge and experience to help improve the workflow for our clients through the technology we can provide

After numerous years of Information Technology Specialist experience, and with a Bachelor of Information Technology – Majoring in Business Analysis, Nicholas joined Therian striving to fulfill a passion of assisting clients improve their business and their workflow with the use of technology.

Angela has a background in Information Technology and Customer Service. Angela joined Therian in 2021, aiming to enhance the customer’s experience in the use of the Cubex Inventory Management System and provide reassurance in utilizing the technology to best serve the customer.
