Opened in 2008 by veterinarian Dr Tracey Thornton, Heartlands Veterinary Hospital is located in Western Australia and has three clinics in York, Toodyay, and Brookton. As a rural practice, its patients include everything from dogs, cats, and pocket pets to native birds and animals, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and alpacas.

Tracey engaged Therian to supply and install almost all of the specialist equipment in the brand-new York vet hospital. Tracey chose Therian after being very impressed by our equipment in her colleagues’ veterinary hospitals and hearing extremely positive feedback on it and the experience of working with us. After approaching us initially for a couple of items of equipment, we were chosen as her practice’s one-stop-shop for vet clinic equipment for this fit-out and we were an extremely convenient solutions source for the practice.

Heartlands Veterinary Hospital’s York Clinic is equipped for small animal consultations and surgery. It was purpose-designed with a “Fear-Free” environment as a core component. The goal of this approach is to make the clinic and hospital environment as stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners. Our equipment facilitated this vision and enabled the clinic to be able to fulfil this promise to its patients.

Our fit-out equipment enhances outcomes for patients and staff alike. By segregating cats and dogs, for example, we were able to achieve a comfortable, calmer, more relaxing environment that is more conducive to healing and recovery than the older-style cages. Walk-in dog runs enable larger dogs to be able to move around and better suit older dogs. Clinic staff are also enjoying the positive difference in being able to do their job more easily.

We also provided expert advice on interior design aspects such as cage/housing materials and colours.
