Modern Needs Of Veterinary Practice Design

How Therian helped Turramurra Veterinary Hospital expand and modernise on a tricky narrow site.

by Bryan King | Therian Lead Architect

Great design not only changes how a space looks and feels, but how you feel within it. We believe that modern veterinary design should improve not only workflow efficiencies, but the health and mood of staff and clients, creating an environment to thrive.

Therian’s lead Architect, Bryan King, has been exclusively designing veterinary clinics and hospitals for decades, both here and in the USA. “Veterinary practice owners are under huge stress; they are trying to respond to the demands of staff retention and recruitment and improve the client experience.”

Bryan continues, “While we know a great driver is their love for animals, we also know they need a functioning business to deliver their services. Our goal is to make sure they have what they need from a design, form, and function perspective so they can be successful.”

“We understand the industry and we understand veterinarians needs. Our focus is on de-stressing their environment with considered design – whilst enhancing their business model and increasing their return on investment. It’s the balance that’s needed for today’s modern veterinary practice owner.”

For the family-owned Turramurra Veterinary Hospital, we designed and provided detailed drawings for the expansion and refurbishment, along with our state-of-the-art veterinary equipment to transform the newly developed Veterinary Hospital into a work of art.

“Therian’s expertise allowed us to envisage space that we didn’t know we had on our tricky narrow building site. Thanks to Therian, we have built a showpiece hospital with great workflow that staff and clients love, and which has achieved accreditation as an ASAV Hospital of Excellence.”
